WCW Bash at the Beach - Meatheads July PPV

Bash at the Beach.

The show starts off with an amazing pyro display followed by Jim Ross and Michael Cole going to a live shot of the beach which is just outside of the arena and a ATV with a empty beer cooler… who does that belong to?

They announce that there will be a Gauntlet match for the WCW Heavyweight Championship featuring John Cena, Randy Orton, Edge, Samoa Joe, Jeff Hardy and Christian.

Triple Threat tag team match for the WCW Tag team championships: Rey and Evan, Regal and McGuinness, and the Colons

We open up the show with the tag team title match between the following 3 teams, Regal and McGuinness, The Colon’s and Rey Mysterio and Evan Bourne.  Evan and Nigel open the match with a great catch as catch can style beginning.  While Nigel gets the upper hand, Evan tags out to Rey. Lots of back and forth action between the two now show the Colon’s getting impatient waiting there turn in the match. After about 10 minutes of high flying action and amazing over the tope rope spots by all competitors, your winners and NEW WCW Tag Team Champions: Rey Mysterio and Evan “Air” Bourne

J.R. and Cole throw to the backstage area where they spot the ATV again and this time they hear beer cans or as Cole puts it “They could have soda pop or juice in them” laying all over the floor by the ATV.

Singles Match: Jack Swagger vs. M.V.P.

Swagger instantly jumps on the mic as he comes to the ring and states that because he is a “All American American” there is no one better then him to be given the U.S. Heavyweight strap.  1.. 2… you hear the clock ticking….  Tick tock ……  M.V.P.’S music hits as he makes his way down to the ring.  M.V.P. controls the action for most of the match but due to a pull of the tights and a little luck from the positioning of the ref, your winner of the match is Jack Swagger

Cole in ring interview w/ Jack Swagger

Cole begins to ask Swagger if he feels that he should be the U.S. champ even though all the fans saw him pull the tights when Swagger snatches the mic away and says “I’m the greatest U.S. champ that ever lived!”  From the announcers table J.R. states that “Jack Swagger hasn’t won anything yet and he knows that there is a former U.S. champ in the building tonight that may beg to differ”.  Just as J.R. finishes his sentence the glass breaks and here comes STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN!  Cole scurries out of the ring while J.R. Screams “STONE COLD STONE COLD STONE COLD” leaving Swagger to face “The Sheriff” one on one in the ring.

After a few “What?” and Austin catch phrases, Austin lets Swagger know that even though he’s not the U.S. champ, he will be in the match to determine who is by facing the winner of the following match which starts right (pause for Austin to look at his watch and put it to his ear) now.

To determine Swaggers’ opponent at New Blood Rising: Beth Phoenix vs. Booker T.

Poor Booker T can’t help but laugh at the thought of him getting to wrestle a woman for his shot at the U.S. championship match at New Blood Rising. He spends a good 5 minutes running down Beth with the usual male chauvinistic rhetoric.  Hit Beth’s music and she comes running out to the ring and gets the upper hand on Booker T who continually has to jump out of the ring to stop the pounding at the hands of the Lampion.  After Booker finally gets her with the power game, here comes from all four corners Melina, Daphney, Natalya and a fired up Beth Phoenix to distract the ref.  After all the confusion, Beth gets the 1 2 3 to move on to the championship match. Your winner and going to New Blood Rising against Jack Swagger, Beth Phoenix.

Austin comes back to the ring:  With all four girls celebrating in the ring, Austin gets the mic and asks the crowd “If you wanna see a woman be the U.S.champ, gimmie a HELL YEAH! Crowd responds Hell Yeah. Austin then celebrates by giving Stunners to each of the women and then does the Austin 4 corner beer salute.

#1 Contenders match for the Tag Team Championships: LAX vs. the Briscoe Bros.

J.R. and Cole sell it to the viewers by saying, “This match is what its billed to be: the winners get to face Rey Mysterio and Evan “Air” Bourne for the coveted WCW tag team championship belts. There won’t be any shenanigans pulled between these two teams just hard and gritty war”  And they were right.  A 15 minute battle between these 2 that went back and forth throughout the arena finds your winners and #1 contenders LAX.

Main Event for the WCW Heavyweight Championship of the World

Ring Announcer Michael Buffer runs down the stipulations of the match and mentions that the order of entry was determined before the show by a lottery which none of the participants are aware of.
Starting off the match is Christian who drew #1. Then the man with a chopstick in his pocket Jeff Hardy comes down to the ring only to be attacked by Randy Orton and left lying on the ramp.  Hardy some how makes the 10 count but after a unprettier Christian moves on to face someone who he can’t see John Cena.  For Some reason Edge now comes down the ramp and attacks John Cena in the exact same fashion but unlike Hardy, Cena doesn’t make the ten count so Christian moves on. The Samoan Submission Machine Samoa Joe now comes to the ring very slowly constantly turning around looking for a sneak attack. Due to Christian not having to work very hard to get this far he is very fresh and him and Joe go back and forth with J.R. proclaiming that it’s about damn time we get a wrestling match!

Christian comes out on top but no better for the ware as the music of Alter Bridge plays bringing the Rated R Superstar Edge to the ring. In what seems to be a struggle for Edge, he finally makes it past Christian to face the Viper Randy Orton.  Edge and Orton stare each other down when Orton pokes Edge with his forefinger and Edge drops to the mat!  Orton gets the one two three and we have a new WCW Heavyweight Champion! Rated RKO celebrate in the ring while you hear J.R. scream the now famous line” Ah son of a bitch!”

Post Match:  Orton and Edge head u the ramp and as they hold up the title, the glass breaks and here comes Austin on his ATV.

He backs them up to the ring and lets Rated RKO know that there indeed is a new sheriff in town and he won’t go for any of this bullshit.
Orton throws Edge to Austin and Austin proceeds to give Edge a stunned for his troubles as the show closes.

Confirmed for the next PPV entitled NEW BLOOD RISING:
For the U.S. Championship: Jack Swagger vs. Beth Phoenix

Randy Orton will defend his WCW heavyweight belt

…and much much more
