WEC 47
- Bart Palaszewski v. Karen Daradebyan—Was a good fight with Daradebyan putting on a ground and pound but got caught in an arm bar to give Palaszewski the win.
- Deividas Taurosevisius v. LC Davis—Too much clenching and stalling in this fight and going to the judges Davis won a split decision. One judge had it as a draw and he must have been the only one really paying attention to the fight. Crowd was so not into this one and it almost killed a decent show so far.
- Javier Vazquex v. Jens Pulver—Pulver was super over with the crowd and got a rock star welcome into the cage. The two traded back and forth until Pulver was caught in an armbar and the ref stopped the fight. Pulver cut a huge promo after the fight that left the crowd speechless and hinted at retiring.
- Miguel Angel Torres v. Joseph Benavidez—I am glad the names are getting easier to type as the card goes on. Torres got a huge pop and is heavier than his opponent. Benavidez really worked Torres over and produced a huge nasty gash on Torres forehead. Benavidez finally caught Torres in a guillotine and Torres had to tap.
- Dominick Cruz v. Brian Bowles for the bantamweight title—Cruz was just putting on a clinic in this fight, mainly due to Bowles breaking his hand but sticking out the fight only to lose when his handlers convinced him to quit at the start of the third round. Crowd did not like the stoppage but Bowles had nothing for Cruz and the fans did not know Bowles had broken his hand
- A solid show from top to bottom but still not worth the $44.99 price tag attached to it, especially with UFC, KOTC, WWE and other PPV offerings. I would think it would be smarted to cut the price for the fans who cannot afford the UFC offerings but still want to see great cage action.
- As always I am Jerry Wiseman…and then the cage door closes.
