On the 4/19 edition of Impact, the first Impact after Lockdown, Rob Van Dam defeated both Jeff Hardy and AJ Styles in the same night, ultimately becoming the new TNA World Heavyweight Champion (he also wrestled 4 matches in 2 nights).

What are your thoughts on the title change?

Personally, I liked it, but I kind of wanted to see AJ's reign go a little longer. I feel that the title change was made to spike up the ratings and garner interest. My feeling is that TNA was getting bad ratings with AJ as champ and they wanted to change it up and give the belt to one of the guys they feel can draw, RVD.

great way to put over your new stars by giving it to a RVD. ive got nothing against RVD, ive always routed for him but giving him the world title when TNA is sposed to be the future and that it produce all the future stars, good idea Hogan.

Extacly! Excellently put COLE TNA totaly contridicted themselves by putting the TNA World Title on RVD ( who Im a huge fan of ) cause he's been with the company what a MONTH? and he's World Champion already. Not too mention AJ Styles domiance as World Champion was a great thing for TNA it got him reconized by people who dont already know about him for what he is and thats the best TNA wrestling has to offer in the ring.


AJ should hvae had at least another 1-2 months on that World Title regin cause I dont see him getting it back anytime soon and even if he does that particular regin he was on was good and itll be hard too duplicate that kinda momentuim AJ had


Hogan n Bischoff should revise there Jan 4th statement about the young gunz and new blood getting shots at the main event and should say The WWE burnouts are gonna run TNA moving foward

Wow, RVD is one of my favorite wrestlers EVER, but hes been with TNA for 3 weeks and they throw the title on him.
DOnt get me wrong im glad they believe in him, but this obviously proves TNA doesnt know WHAT to do.

Plus it gives the impression that TNA doesnt really have much faith in the new and younger talent.

TNA pulled a WCW. This could have been a great PPV match for the 1st time RVD and AJ face off. But TNA is more concerned about TV ratings than PPV buys.
